Stephen Mulligan

Opus 3 Artists welcomes conductor Stephen Mulligan to our roster for worldwide management.

American conductor Stephen Mulligan is in his second season as Assistant Conductor of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. This season, Mulligan also serves as a Dudamel Conducting Fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, leading the orchestra on the Toyota Symphonies for Youth series and assisting Music Director Gustavo Dudamel, Conductor Laureate Esa-Pekka Salonen, and guest conductors Lionel Bringuier, Mirga Gražinyte-Tyla, Zubin Mehta, and Michael Tilson Thomas.

During the 2017-18 season, his first with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Mulligan stepped in on short notice for three classical subscription programs over the course of six weeks. Bachtrack remarked that his debut was "engaging to watch and he coaxed a stellar performance from the ASO and the wonderful guest artists. This was a great opportunity for Mulligan to introduce himself to Atlanta audiences and he took full advantage of it." In spring of 2018, Mulligan was awarded a prestigious 2018 Solti Foundation U.S. Career Assistance Award.

Highlights of recent seasons include appearances with the St. Louis Symphony, Florida Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Amarillo Symphony Orchestra, Reading Symphony Orchestra, London Symphonia, and Aspen Philharmonic Orchestra. In the summer of 2015, after winning the Aspen Conducting Prize, he served as the Assistant Conductor of the Aspen Music Festival.
