From Crescendo Magazine (translated):
“In this recording made at the Victoria Hall in Geneva in June 2021, the Orchester de la Suisse romande is conducted by the American John Fiore who is a renowned opera conductor (Metropolitan, Bavarian or Dresden Opera, Swedish Opera, Grand Theater of Geneva…). Based in Geneva since 2015 after several years spent at the Deutsches Oper am Rhein and then in Düsseldorf, Fiore chose a freelance career. He brings to these pages, the discovery of which is enriching, a convincing aesthetic balance and carefully underlines all their originality. A long tradition unites Wissmer to the French-speaking phalanx: in the past, two of his eminent musical directors, Ernest Ansermet then Paul Klecki, creator of L’Enfant et la rose in Dallas in 1961, included his music in their programs.”
