VILDE FRANG & NIKOLAI LUGANSKY WIN EDISON KLASSIEK AWARDS

Congratulations to violinist Vilde Frang and pianist Nikolai Lungansky who were awarded Edison Klassiek Awards in The Hague for 2011. Vilde Frang was named Best Newcomer and the jury commented that she is “a talent that comes along only once a generation” and praised her “impressive mastery of dynamics and flawless technique.” Nikolai Lungansky received an award for Chamber Music for his recording of violin sonatas with Vadim Repin. The jury remarked, "when two musicians really go for it…[they] create something wonderful. A brilliant recital.”

This award follows Vilde’s success at the Classic Brit Awards last month where she was also named Best Newcomer. She will appear at the Lockenhaus Festival and Festival Musica sull'Acqua, Colico followed by the Verbier Festival later this month. Nikolai Lungansky will next perform with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg at the Rheingau Festival and in Amsterdam.
