Opus 3 Berlin Welcomes Reinhard Goebel

Opus 3 Artists Berlin is delighted to welcome conductor Reinhard Goebel to their roster for general management. Reinhard Goebel is an icon of early music, specializing in the repertoire of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. He is the founder of Musica Antiqua Köln, which he led for 33 years. Goebel has recorded more than 100 albums over the last decades and Deutsche Grammophon/Archiv Produktion just released a 75 CD box set comprising his entire Musica Antiqua Köln recordings.

He is the artistic leader of the Berlin Barock Soloists (members of the Berlin Philharmonic) as well as the Neues Bachisches Collegium Musicum (members of the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig) with his own series at the Gewandhaus Leipzig. Leading orchestras all over Europe regularly invite him as guest conductor including Rotterdam Philharmonic, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Tonhalle Zürich, Deutsches Symphony-Orchester Berlin and the Berlin Philharmonic.

As successor of Nikolaus Harnoncourt, he has been professor of Historical Performance Practice at Mozarteum Salzburg since 2010.
