Bramwell Tovey’s Summer Engagements At Festivals Throughout North America

GRAMMY Award winning conductor Bramwell Tovey is acknowledged around the world for his artistic depth and his warm, charismatic personality on the podium. This summer, he brings his magnetic conducting style to several popular festivals throughout North America. Since 2004 Bramwell Tovey has conducted Summertime Classics with the New York Philharmonic. The festival always features a myriad of works and this year focuses on Tchaikovsky and other Romantic composers. The festival begins June 28. In September Bramwell Tovey rejoins the LA  Philharmonic as their Principal Guest Conductor at the Hollywood Bowl. He conducts pianist Joyce Yang on September 8 in a lively program which includes Saint-Saens, Berlioz and Respighi. On September 9 and 10 Bramwell Tovey brings back the popular Tchaikovsky spectacular complete with fireworks. And on September 13 he conducts the LA Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Master Chorale with Heidi Stober, Kate Lindsey, Nicholas Phan and Matthew Rose in Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Mozart’s Requiem in honor of the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
Bramwell Tovey will also appear for the first time at several other noteworthy summer festivals. On August 7 he makes his Blossom Music Festival debut with the Cleveland Orchestra conducting A Midsummer Night's Dream. Baiba Skride will be the violin soloist. He joins Gil Shaham and the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in New York on August 13 for a “Tchaikovsky Spectacular!” And on August 26 he conducts Gershwin’s classic opera Porgy and Bess with the Boston Symphony at Tanglewood.
