Sharon Isbin Releases New Album with the Pacifica Quartet

Multiple Grammy Award-winning guitarist Sharon Isbin and the Grammy winning Pacifica Quartet have released a beautiful collection of music for guitar and strings, Souvenirs of Spain & Italy, on Cedille Records. The music spotlights Italian-born composers influenced by Spanish idioms including Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Quintet for Guitar and String Quartet, Emilio Pujol’s guitar arrangement of Antonio Vivaldi’s lute Concerto in D Major, Luigi Boccherini’s Quintet for Guitar and String Quartet in D Major, and Spanish composer Joaquín Turina’s string quartet movement, La Oración del Torero, Op. 34. The album spans works from the Baroque to the mid-20th century and is currently the number 1 new classical release on Amazon and number 2 on the Billboard Classical chart.
