Rosanne Cash

Opus 3 Artists is thrilled to announce the signing of celebrated singer and songwriter and Grammy-winning music star Rosanne Cash for national and international concert and orchestra touring. For over three decades Rosanne Cash has been one of the most compelling figures in popular music, with a remarkable body of work noted for its emotional acuity, rich and resonant imagery, and unsparing honesty. These special qualities enable her to establish a unique intimacy with her audiences. Her upcoming, highly anticipated album will be released internationally in January 2014 and is the third in a trilogy exploring family, heritage, place and time that began with Black Cadillac in 2006 and The List in 2009. This collection of new original songs resonates with Rosanne’s complex and soulful relationship to the American south.

The eldest daughter of country music icon Johnny Cash and stepdaughter of June Carter Cash of the legendary Carter Family, Rosanne’s musical and family legacy is rooted in the very beginnings of American country music with its deep cultural and historical connections to the south. Her own thoughtful, genre-blurring approach, which encompasses country, rock, roots and pop influences, has garnered her a Grammy, twelve Grammy nominations and eleven No. 1 singles. Her 2009 album The List, called "exquisite" by the San Francisco Chronicle, featured twelve songs from the list of “100 essential country songs” that her father compiled for her, and instructed her to learn, when she was 18 and about to join his road show. The List peaked at #5 on the Billboard country chart and #22 on the general album chart, received two Grammy nominations and won the Americana Music Association Awards’ 2010 Album of the Year. Critics applauded the album for both Rosanne's vocal interpretations and its emotional resonance: “At its core, country music is about life as it's lived, not hallmarked from complacency. In reaching into her past, Cash troubles the water and makes peace with who she is at her genetic core. To service it so faithfully is a marvel; to hear The List is a wonder." (American Songwriter) “Long revered as a master songwriter, Rosanne is equally talented at reinterpretation, singing with such close-to-the-bone sincerity that you can’t help but think: like father, like daughter.” (Elle Magazine)

President and CEO David V. Foster said “As a company devoted to representing the world’s greatest artists, we are delighted to welcome the visionary singer, songwriter and recording artist Rosanne Cash to Opus 3 Artists.”

In addition to touring her intimate Essential Rosanne Cash duo concert, and her album tours with full band, Rosanne is currently creating a multimedia show for her 2014 release. This follows the acclaimed productions for Black Cadillac and The List which have been presented at PACs around the world including The Sydney Festival, Lincoln Center, The Walker Art Center, SFJAZZ and St. Ann's Warehouse.  She will also tour her orchestra program which had its auspicious premiere with the Minnesota Orchestra in 2011.

"Rosanne's work, demonstrated in her recent productions, shows that when you combine her singular voice with her creative writing, you expand the beauty of our American Landscape. It is very exciting for us to explore new territories with the great people at Opus 3" remarked Danny Kahn, Rosanne Cash's Manager.

A gifted writer, Rosanne has authored several books, including her critically-acclaimed memoir Composed (2010 New York Times Best Seller List).  Rosanne’s prose and essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Oxford-American, New York Magazine, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, Martha Stewart Living and various other publications. Rosanne Cash lives in New York City with her husband, producer and guitarist John Leventhal. She is the mother of 5 children.
