Soprano Song Hee Lee is a 2026 Laffont Competition Grand Finals Winner! The Metropolitan Opera’s nationwide vocal competition was founded in 1954 to discover and support promising young opera singers. Previous winners include Stephanie Blythe, Lawrence Brownlee, Renée Fleming, and many more.

Next up for Song Hee Lee she will make her debut with Les Arts Florissants under William Christie in concerts in Paris, Versailles, and Madrid. She also appears with the Cecilia Chorus of New York in Handel’s Messiah at Carnegie Hall, the American Classical Orchestra in Mozart’s Exsultate, jubilate, and North Carolina Opera in Massenet’s Cendrillon. She will also embark on a North American tour with il Pomo d’Oro alongside Joyce DiDonato.

Recent highlights include her acclaimed turn as Cleopatra in R.B. Schlather’s Giulio Cesare at Hudson Hall, collaborations with early music ensemble Ruckus, and performing scenes from Der Rosenkavalier with Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra.
