Pianists Pavel Kolesnikov & Samson Tsoy Join the Roster

Opus 3 Artists is thrilled to welcome internationally acclaimed pianists Pavel Kolesnikov and Samson Tsoy to our roster for North American representation, as both individual soloists and as one of today’s most compelling piano duos.

Celebrated for their extraordinary musical chemistry, imagination and expressive depth, Kolesnikov and Tsoy bring their contrasting artistic personalities together in performances that move effortlessly between intimacy and explosive virtuosity, while exploring unexpected connections between music, art and space.

The New York Times named their Carnegie Hall recital among its Best Classical Music Performances of 2024, praising their interpretation of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring as emerging from “one shared mind.” Their acclaimed recordings for harmonia mundi include a debut album that received a Diapason d’Or, was selected for the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik’s Quarterly Critics’ Choice, and was named among Le Monde’s best recordings of 2024. Their subsequent Stravinsky/Ravel recording was selected among The New York Times’ Best Classical Albums of 2025, with Gramophone declaring, “I’d struggle to recommend any above this one.”

Known for imaginative, site-specific performances and interdisciplinary collaborations, the duo participated in David Hockney’s retrospective at Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris in 2025 and brought their site-specific residency to Ballroom Marfa in Texas. This month, they perform in intimate settings for Fondazione Dries Van Noten in Venice. They also founded the Ragged Music Festival, bringing music into dialogue with architecture and the visual arts. Its second edition, held in Amsterdam in March 2026, featured interdisciplinary programming and a collaboration with dancers from Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s Rosas.

Their 2026/27 season includes a North American recital tour with appearances in Atlanta, New York, Boston, and Montreal, alongside return engagements at Wigmore Hall and BOZAR. They will also make their duo debut at Leipzig’s Gewandhaus, performing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in a version for two pianos, timpani, chorus, and soloists. The performance is part of a complete Beethoven symphony cycle, with the Gewandhaus Orchestra performing the other eight symphonies under Andris Nelsons.

Pavel and Samson will be managed by Scott Mello in our New York office in collaboration with Daniel Cummings and Antonio Orlando at Askonas Holt for general management.

Pavel Kolesnikov brings a singular artistic voice to both recital and concerto repertoire, earning praise for his emotional intelligence, understated virtuosity, and revelatory interpretations. A 2026/27 BOZAR Portrait Artist, he has appeared with leading orchestras including the London Symphony, Philharmonia Orchestra, and the Atlanta and Cincinnati symphonies, and is equally celebrated for his adventurous collaborations across music, dance, and visual art.

Samson Tsoy is a pianist of exceptional imagination, equally at home as a soloist, curator, and collaborator. Praised by The Guardian as an “intrepid piano soloist,” his recent highlights include appearances with the Philharmonia and London Philharmonic orchestras, collaborations with artists David Hockney and Richard Serra, and his acclaimed solo recording Inmost Heart on Linn Records.
