In 26/27, Choi returns to Lyric Opera of Chicago for La traviata (Germont) and makes debuts with Virginia Opera in Pagliacci (Tonio) and the Richmond Symphony in Orff’s Carmina Burana under Valentina Peleggi.

In 25/26, Choi returned to San Diego Opera for Pagliacci (Tonio) and to Opera San José for Cavalleria rusticana (Alfio), Pagliacci (Tonio), and La traviata (Germont). He also made his Dallas Symphony Orchestra debut and appeared at Bravo! Vail in Madama Butterfly (Bonze; Prince Yamadori).

In 24/25, Choi returned to Opera San José for La bohème (Marcello), made debuts with Arizona Opera in Aida (Amonasro) and The Atlanta Opera in La bohème (Marcello), and joined the roster of LA Opera for Rigoletto (title role cover).

Choi has developed a close relationship with Opera San José, where he made his company and role debut in Tosca (Scarpia) and has returned for La bohème, Cavalleria rusticana, Pagliacci, and La traviata. Other highlights include his San Francisco Opera debut in Madama Butterfly (Prince Yamadori) and Die Frau ohne Schatten (Second Night Watchman), and appearances with Korea National Opera in Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Four Villains) and La fanciulla del West (Jack Rance).

Choi made his debut with The Cleveland Orchestra in Otello (Montano) under Franz Welser-Möst and returned for Die Zauberflöte. He has appeared with Wolf Trap Opera in Rigoletto (title role) and La traviata (Germont), Chautauqua Opera in La bohème (Marcello) and Rigoletto (title role), and North Carolina Opera in Pagliacci (Tonio).

On the concert stage, Choi has appeared with The Philadelphia Orchestra in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 under Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the KBS Symphony Orchestra in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.

A graduate of The Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, Choi appeared with the company in La fanciulla del West (José Castro), Otello (Herald), and Madama Butterfly (Prince Yamadori), working with conductors including Marco Armiliato, Gustavo Dudamel, and Jader Bignamini.

Choi is a recipient of a Sullivan Foundation Grant and has received awards from the Giulio Gari International Vocal Competition, Gerda Lissner Foundation, Opera Index, and Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation.

A native of South Korea, Choi studied at Hanyang University, Manhattan School of Music, and Mannes School of Music.
