Opus 3 Artists Celebrates 20 Years

On November 1, 2026, Opus 3 Artists celebrates 20 years as an independent company representing many of the world’s most exciting performing artists and ensembles.

Established in 2006 by a group of managers from ICM Artists, a division of International Creative Management, Opus 3 was founded with a shared vision: to build an agency dedicated to supporting artists and advancing their careers across the performing arts. From classical instrumentalists, vocalists, conductors, and composers to chamber ensembles, touring orchestras, dance and theater companies, and jazz, world, and new music artists, the company’s roster has always reflected a wide-ranging and evolving vision of the performing arts.

Over the years, that roster has continued to grow, expanding into symphony pops, orchestral specials, film and gaming projects with orchestra, family entertainment, cabaret, and original projects developed in collaboration with the artists we represent.

Our history, however, reaches back much further than 2006. Opus 3 traces its roots to legendary impresario Sol Hurok, whose pioneering work helped shape the performing arts landscape in North America for half a century, from the 1920s through the 1970s. His successor, ICM Artists, was established in 1976 as a division of International Creative Management before becoming independent once again as Opus 3 Artists LLC on November 1, 2006.

True to that legacy, Opus 3 remains committed to discovering, nurturing, and developing emerging artists, helping them build the relationships and foundations for lasting careers. We take particular pride in the many artists whose journeys with Opus 3 began early in their careers and who have since become major figures on the international stage.

In 2012, Opus 3 expanded internationally with the opening of Opus 3 Artists GmbH in Berlin, Germany. In 2020, amid unprecedented challenges for the global performing arts industry, Opus 3 entered a groundbreaking new chapter when it was acquired by the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM), establishing a first-of-its-kind partnership between a conservatory and an artist management agency.

The partnership subsequently expanded to include UK-based artist management agency Askonas Holt and record label Pentatone, creating a global creative network that brings together artists, students, and arts professionals, fostering collaboration, exchanging ideas, and creating new opportunities across the organizations. In 2024, Opus 3 Artists GmbH joined with partner agency Askonas Holt to become Askonas Holt Berlin.

Throughout these two decades, the heart of Opus 3 has remained its people. Guided by our mission to “identify, develop, and advance talent across the performing arts, connecting artists and communities worldwide,” our team of artist managers, booking agents, marketing and tour production specialists, associates, and administrative professionals shares a dedication to the artists we represent and the work we bring to audiences around the world.

Today, Opus 3 is led by Managing Director Rob Berretta, Chief Operating Officer Ben Maimin, and CEO of Opus 3 and Askonas Holt Donagh Collins, together with a dedicated board.

As we mark this milestone, we celebrate not only 20 years of artistic achievements, growth, and collaboration, but also the artists, colleagues, presenters, and partners who have been part of our story. We look forward to building on that legacy, supporting new generations of artists, and discovering what the next chapter will bring.
