Benjamin Taylor’s 25/26 season includes his debut at Seattle Opera in Carmen (Escamillo), and returns to The Metropolitan Opera in Porgy and Bess (Jake) and Carmen (Moralès) and to Charleston Opera Theater in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro).

In the 24/25 season, Mr. Taylor made company debuts at Arizona Opera in La bohème (Marcello), Madison Opera in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro), and Charleston Opera Theater in La bohème (Schaunard). He also debuted at Washington National Opera in Porgy and Bess (Jake). On the concert stage, he appeared with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic in Lt. Kijé, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and Buffalo Philharmonic in Sanctuary Road (William Still), the Dayton Philharmonic in Fauré’s Requiem, the Evansville Philharmonic in Carmina Burana, and with Opera Omaha for their Opera Outdoors concert. He also returned to North Carolina Opera for Opera in the Park.

In the 23/24 season, Mr. Taylor returned to Opera Philadelphia in Simon Boccanegra (Paolo). Additional performances included debuts with Austin Opera in Pagliacci (Silvio) and The Princeton Festival in Così fan tutte (Guglielmo). He also returned to The Metropolitan Opera in Carmen (Moralès), to Detroit Opera in Breaking the Waves (Jan), and debuted with Bayerische Staatsoper in La fanciulla del West (Bello). He sang Carmina Burana with both Symphoria and Northwest Florida Symphony, and made debuts at Boston Lyric Opera in La bohème (Schaunard), OperaDelaware/Opera Baltimore in La traviata (Germont), and again at Opera Philadelphia in La bohème (Schaunard). He returned to The Metropolitan Opera in The Magic Flute (Papageno) and Dialogues des Carmélites, and to Berkshire Opera Festival in La bohème (Marcello). He also made his debut with The Cleveland Orchestra in La fanciulla del West (Bello).

Previous highlights include his debut at The Metropolitan Opera in Fire Shut Up in My Bones (Chester); performances with Michigan Opera Theatre, Spoleto Festival USA in La bohème (Schaunard), Cincinnati Opera in the world premiere of Castor and Patience (West), North Carolina Opera in Sanctuary Road (William Still), and Baltimore Concert Opera in Adriana Lecouvreur (Michonnet). He also returned to Pittsburgh Opera in The Magic Flute (Papageno), and to Des Moines Metro Opera in Pique Dame (Tomsky), Platée (Satyre), and Fellow Travelers (Tommy McIntyre). Additionally, he participated in the workshop of The Factotum (Garby) at Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Mr. Taylor is a graduate of the Pittsburgh Opera Resident Artist Program, where he appeared in La bohème (Schaunard), Glory Denied (Older Thompson), and Tosca (Sciarrone). He made his Madison Opera debut in Pagliacci (Silvio) and was an Apprentice Artist at The Santa Fe Opera, where he covered Les pêcheurs de perles (Zurga). As a Gerdine Young Artist and Richard Gaddes Festival Artist at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, he appeared in The Barber of Seville (Fiorello), Shalimar the Clown (Cowardly Giant), and Madama Butterfly (Prince Yamadori), and covered The Barber of Seville (Figaro), La bohème (Marcello), Ariadne auf Naxos (Music Teacher), Madama Butterfly (Sharpless), and The Trial (Lawyer Huld). Additional performances include La bohème (Marcello) with Crested Butte Music Festival and Madama Butterfly (Prince Yamadori) with Berkshire Opera Festival.
