Cristina Pato is among the recipients of the first-ever Committed Artist Award from the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation. The award was established to emphasize the value of meaningful artistic practices developed within the framework of collective and social projects. The Foundation aims to bring to light outstanding artistic commitments.<\/p>\n
Three Spanish and two French artists have been selected by an international jury including Cristina Pato, Santiago Cirugeda, Julio Jara, Ne\u00efl Beloufa and Patrick Bouchain.<\/p>\n
The award recognizes Cristina’s permanent commitment to cultural exchange and education, including her interdisciplinary initiatives. Through her work with UCSB (Memory: An Interdisciplinary Exploration) to the Silkroad Project and Yo-Yo Ma to her work as Chair of Spanish Culture and Civilization at New York University in 2019-2020, where she launched extensive programming on cultural sustainability and social responsibility, focused on cultural memory and diversity through the arts.<\/p>\n
