Set to Tao\u2019s new contemporary score for piano and electronics with \u00addancers on a \u00adcustom-built sandbox stage, <em>More Forever<\/em> is a stunning and sensitive evening-length work that blurs the lines between movement and music. Through Caleb Teicher&#8217;s adventurous choreography, dancers explore the unique \u00adsonic \u00adpotential of sand-dancing using American dance traditions such as Tap, Vernacular Jazz, and Lindy Hop. The piece is humorous and \u00adsentimental, whimsical and heartbreaking.<\/p>\n<p>Produced in partnership with Dance\/NYC, the NY Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies have saluted outstanding and groundbreaking creative work by independent dance artists in NYC for 35 years. Known as \u201cThe Bessie\u201d in honor of revered dance teacher Bessie Sch\u00f6nberg, the awards were established in 1984 by David White at Dance Theater Workshop.
