Opus 3 is excited to welcome tenor Michael McDermott to our roster for worldwide general management. Michael is a third-place winner in Houston Grand Opera\u2018s 2023 Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Artists Concert of Arias, and a second-year member of the Butler Opera Studio at HGO.<\/p>\n
Michael made his international debut in the summer of 2024 at Glyndebourne in Cal McCrystal\u2019s new production of The Merry Widow<\/em> (Camille de Rosillon), conducted by John Wilson. Highlights of the 24\/25 season include La boh\u00e8me<\/em> (Rodolfo) and Il trovatore<\/em> (Un messo) with Houston Grand Opera and a soon to be announced leading role for his debut with the Spoleto Festival. On the concert stage, he debuts with the Kansas City Symphony in Messiah<\/em>, conducted by Patrick Summers.
