Keith had originally joined the group in 2010, replacing co-founder Gene Watts while still a student at McGill University. Keith contributed to the Canadian Brass 2011 award-winning recording <em>Brahms On Brass,<\/em> where he was featured prominently, particularly in a solo on <em>Chorale Prelude X<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Gene, who had initially supported Keith as his replacement, praised him then as &#8220;young, charismatic, full of fun and one of the finest young trombonists on the scene today.&#8221; Now, after fourteen years, Watts commends Keith once again saying, &#8220;Keith is fulfilling his promise becoming as fine a trombonist as I have ever heard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Keith, dubbed the <em>Wayne Gretzky of the Trombone<\/em> steps back into the Brass following another legendary trombonist, Achilles Liarmakopoulos, often referred to as the <em>Greek God of the Trombone<\/em>. Achilles is pursuing new opportunities as a performer in the Greek National Symphony Orchestra and as a featured soloist.<\/p>\n<p>Canadian Brass veterans Chuck, Jeff, and Joe, along with new trumpeter Mikio Sasaki, welcome the quintessential presentation of this new incarnation of Canadian Brass with Keith Dyrda completing the ensemble.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Canadian Brass, known for its excellence in chamber music performance, is excited to welcome back trombonist Keith Dyrda.
