"The mood music my hotel in Seoul pipes into my bedroom is Beethoven Serioso quartet," tweeted violinist Stefan Jackiw from South Korea, where he's performing this week with the London Philharmonic and conductor Vassily Sinaisky.  Read Strings Twitter Tips article featuring Jackiw.  With his Brahms Sonatas CD (Sony) submitted for Grammy consideration, the 25-year-old violinist heads to Baltimore this month for a reunion with Marin Alsop, who led their Philadelphia Orchestra concert at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival this past summer.

"Stupendous ... Mr. Jackiw has had a well-justified and meteoric rise to the top of the international music scene. Still in his mid-twenties, he has performed with almost every major orchestra in the world and has been compared to Issac Stern and Itzhak Perlman ... [His performance] will be spoken of in hushed tones by Bellingham classical music lovers in years to come."
