Welsh pianist Llyr Williams is widely admired for his profound musical intelligence, and for the expressive and communicative nature of his interpretations. A regular performer in the Wigmore Hall’s main piano series, in 2014 Williams embarked on a complete Beethoven Piano Sonata Cycle spread over three years, both at the Wigmore Hall and Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff. The series will be recorded for release exclusively on digital platforms, starting in spring 2015.
2015/16 Season highlights include recitals at The Gilmore International Keyboard Festival and the Ravinia Festival, as well as a second consecutive season as Artist in Residence at Glasgow City Halls, for which Williams will continue exploring Beethoven piano sonatas and string quartets alongside the Elias Quartet in a series of concerts and talks.
His latest release Wagner Without Words (Signum, August 2014), which received critical acclaim reflects Williams’ intimate relationship with operatic music.
