This season, baritone Earle Patriarco returned to the Metropolitan Opera for Frank Hubbard in Dr. Atomic and to the Pittsburgh Opera as Taddeo in L'Italiana in Algeri. This summer he makes his debut at the Cincinnati Opera in Carmen, and next season, returns to the Metropolitan Opera for Gianni Schicchi and the new production of Carmen. He recently made his role and festival debut as Melitone in La Forza del Destino in a concert performance conducted by James Conlon at the Cincinnati May Festival and appeared in the Metropolitan Opera's premiere of Phillip Glass' Satyagraha.
Mr. Patriarco has appeared in many of the world's most prestigious opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera (where he was an Adler Fellow and a member of the Merola Opera Program), Lyric Opera of Chicago, Seattle Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Dallas Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Florida Grand Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Paris Opera, Monnaie in Brussels, Munich State Opera, Frankfurt Opera, Stuttgart State Opera, Berlin State Opera, Madrid's Teatro Real, and the Welsh National Opera. He has also toured Japan and China with Seiji Ozawa and the Veroza Japan Company. His many roles include the title role in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Marcello and Schaunard in La Bohéme, Dandini in La Cenerentola, Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Belcore in L'Elisir d'amore, Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Lescaut in both Manon and Manon Lescaut, Valentin in Faust, the Husband in Les Mamelles de Tirésias,and Junius in The Rape of Lucretia,
In concert, he has appeared with the Met Chamber Orchestra and James Levine in Zankel Hall, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony, the Montreal Symphony, and at the Grand Teton Festival. He has recorded Carmina Burana with Donald Runnicles and the Atlanta Symphony for TELARC and Lescaut in Manon with Antonio Pappano for EMI. Both recordings were nominated for Grammy Awards.
Mr. Patriarco has worked with many of the world's finest conductors including Betrand de Billy, James Levine, Seiji Ozawa, Antonio Pappano, Emmanuel Plasson, Donald Runnicles, Patrick Summers, and Osmo Vanska.
Mr. Patriarco was born in Southern California. He earned his Bachelor of Music from Biola University and received his Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California.
