Clarinetist David Orlowsky is widely recognized as a musician of tremendous expressiveness and depth, and is acknowledged worldwide as one of today's leading interpreters of clarinet repertoire ranging from Mozart to Golijov to Klezmer. Recording exclusively for Sony Classical, David Orlowsky has released seven albums and received three ECHO Klassik awards. At the age of sixteen he founded the David Orlowsky Trio (with Jens-Uwe Popp on guitar and Florian Dohrmann on double bass). Today, the award-winning trio is regarded as one of the most influential groups in the field of new world music. David Orlowsky has appeared at leading festivals and prestigious concert halls worldwide, both as a soloist and with his trio.
Highlights of his 2016/17 season include debut soloist performances with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, with Norddeutsche Philharmonie at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern festival, and with early music ensemble Lautten Compagney in Schwetzingen and Leverkusen. David Orlowsky also continues his collaboration with the Danish String Quartet at Hamburg’s spectacular new Elbphilharmonie and at the Salzburg Mozarteum, with Casal Quartet in Blaibach and vocal ensemble Singer Pur at Rheingau Musik Festival.
