Alexandra Deshorties continues to distinguish herself as one of the leading young sopranos of her generation.

Ms. Deshorties recently made her critically acclaimed debut as the title role in Medea at the Glimmerglass Festival. She also recently made her debuts at the Dallas Opera as Desdemona in Otello (opening the Winspear Opera House in the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts) and the Palm Beach Opera as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, and her Canadian recital debut in  Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto.

Other past opera engagements have included Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte at the San Francisco Opera, the Seattle Opera, the Cincinnati Opera,  the Aix-en-Provence Festival, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the La Coruña Festival in Spain, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, and in the Jonathan Miller production at the Brooklyn Academy of Music; Donna Anna at the Los Angeles Opera, Cincinnati Opera, the Aix-en-Provence Festival (in the Peter Brook production which was released on DVD in Europe), and the Gstaad Festival in Switzerland; Valentine in Les Huguenots at the Bard Music Festival, Violetta in La Traviata at the Arizona Opera, Elletra in Idomeneo at the Houston Grand Opera, Cleopatra in Guilio Cesare at the Seattle Opera, and the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor and the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro  at the Portland Opera Repertory Theater. A graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artists Development Program, she made her house debut as the High Priestess in Aida, and has since appeared as Elettra, Fiordiligi, the Countess, Donna Anna, Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serais, and Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos (which was taped for television broadcast),  all of which were conducted by James Levine.
